White Brow reaches an elevation of approximately 130 meters and is part of the undulating landscape of the West Pennine Moors. Its name may derive from a white band of limestone or quartz visible on its slopes, typical of the area's Carboniferous geology. It matters as a local landmark contributing to the topographic identity of Bolton's upland fringe.
