Whitcastle Hill is a prehistoric linear earthwork in the Scottish Borders, still marked on the official record though its builders are long gone. The ridge may have guided herds, bounded territory or simply forced people to notice the hill before crossing it. Whatever its purpose, the earth remains shaped against nature, waiting for someone to walk its line and ask what it excluded.

Scotland's National Record of the Historic Environment records Whitcastle Hill as Earthwork(s) (prehistoric), Linear Earthwork (prehistoric). The official map says its point is accurate as follows: NGR given to the nearest 10m. The record does not by itself mean that the public may enter the place.
