Wheatfield and Cothelstone Hill rises to approximately 122 meters (400 feet) above sea level and is part of the gently undulating landscape of the Somerset Levels. The area is geologically significant as it lies within the clay and peat deposits of the Bristol Channel Basin. The hill has historical importance as a landmark in the region and may have been used in prehistoric times for settlement or agriculture.
