Well in Lissenhall

Depicted as 'Well' on the first ed. OS 6-inch map but not on subsequent editions. Patrick's Well (TN020-085001-) 90m to E and bullaun stone (TN020-157----) re-used as a mass rock 270m to SSW. According to the OS Namebooks (O'Donovan et al. c.1840) the well known as ' "Toberavault House"/"Toberavault" A spring well of excellent water. It is considered a holy well, but no information could be obtained to lead to the origin of the name'. John O'Donovan adds 'I do not think this name worth giving as it cannot be of any antiquity. I think it ought to be mark[ed] "well" or spring well on the map'. Field inspection established that this is a natural spring well and does not appear to have any religious affinities.
