Well in Dublin South City

Well

What is recorded here

Lissenfield House once kept a holy well that later became a spa, drawing visitors who believed its water could heal or refresh. The house and well have vanished without a visible trace, leaving only a ghost of cleanliness and faith buried beneath Dublin South City. What remains is the idea that a place can disappear completely yet continue working inside the people who remember it.
Daly (1957, 24) mentions a well reputed to be a holy well and later used as a spa well on the grounds of Lissenfield House. No visible trace.

This remains an important historical record, but the official description says the monument is no longer visible or has been destroyed. The monument record does not grant public access. Check the route and ask the landowner before entering private land.
