Inch well sits south of the churchyard near the Gowl bridge, holding the Priory chapel bell that men dropped into its dark water during the Reformation. The bell never rose again, transforming a common drinking place into a silent vault for forbidden sound. Water still flows around that hidden bronze tongue, carrying the weight of a church stripped of its voice.

Unlocated well within townland described by Carrigan as 'There is another well, south of the churchyard (LA034-019005-), near the Gowl bridge, known as "Inch well", the bell of the Priory chapel (LA034-019004-) is believed to have been secreted here, at the time of the Reformation, and to have never been brought to the surface since' (Carrigan 1905, vol. 2, 239-40).
