Weir

Situated in the middle of the tidal Fergus Estuary, N of the archipelago of islands. Described by O’Sullivan et al. (2010) as follows: ‘Boarland Rock 13 was a line of posts oriented E-W and directly E of Boarland Rock 8. It was only visible at low tide for a few minutes and therefore was not investigated. During field work in September 2009, a particular low tide allowed us to observe that BR13 may be another fence of Boarland Rock 1 – possibly attached to the end of its northern fence.’ (O’Sullivan et al. 2010, Appendix 1, 43, Boarland Rock 13) Compiled by: Mary Tunney Date of upload: 9 October 2019
