Cragbrien Castle in County Clare, Ireland, has vanished so completely that even its exact position has been forgotten. Stone castles in this region often fell into fields, roads or ruins, but Cragbrien disappeared from memory itself. What remains is a gap where a building should be, proving that forgetting can be as powerful as destruction.

Cragbrien Castle was likely built in the 15th or 16th century by a local Gaelic family in the Burren region. It is remembered as an example of a defensive tower house reflecting the medieval landscape of County Clare.
