Weir is a post-medieval fish trap on the north bank of the Shannon estuary, near Bunratty West, Ireland. Oblique wooden braces still mark its nine-metre length, guiding silver fish into a narrow kill. The river gave up life only when people shaped water with timber and patience.

Described by O’Sullivan (2001, 299) as post-medieval ‘post alignments (creek trap with obliquely set braces), oriented NE-SW, 9m long, c. 60m NW of Bunratty 8.'
