Weir is an eight-metre post alignment on the northern Shannon bank, built to trap fish inside a moving creek. It still crosses the mudflat near Bunratty West, marking the exact line where human patience met tidal change. The posts may have stood through storms, floods and forgotten seasons, turning an ordinary inlet into a place of provision.

On the N bank of the Shannon estuary adjacent to Bunratty West townland. Described by O’Sullivan (2001, 299) as a post medieval ‘Post alignment (creek trap), oriented NE-SW, 8m long, crossing modern mudflat creek, 10m N of Bunratty 7. February 1997.'
