Wedge tomb in Tullycommon is a Bronze Age chamber tomb in County Clare, Ireland. Two large stones lean together like the jaws of a quiet beast, narrowing west to east across a gentle slope. A D-shaped cairn still traces the ground around it, as if the tomb had grown from the field rather than been placed inside it.
Situated on a gentle W-facing slope on the line of a N-S field wall with the townland boundary 53m to the S. A wedge tomb in good condition, composed of two sidestones, a backstone and two roofstones. The tomb faces W (Wth 1.15m at the opening) and narrows towards the back (Wth 0.7m). There is a single sidestone at S (L 2.25m; H 0.7m; T 0.15m) and a single sidestone at N (L 2.6m; max. H 0.9m; T 0.2m). The chamber decreases in height from 0.8m at the front to 0.7m at the back. A single backstone (L 1.4m; H 0.75) at E has two stones extending E, one from the S end (L 0.9m; H 0.24m) and one from the N (L 1m; H 0.15m) possibly indicating a second chamber. Traces of a cairn can be seen extending S, W and N of the entrance, making a D-shaped cairn (7m N-S; 3m E-W; H 0.3m at N, 0.8m at W, 0.8m at S). This wedge tomb is national monument in state care, no. 270.
