Knocknagappul holds a broken wedge tomb where seven outer stones still curve around a gallery narrowed by two standing jambs. The missing backstone and vanished north wall suggest robbery or collapse, yet the large roofstone and displaced slab preserve the shape of a chamber built for descent and memory. Local people still call it the mass-rock, giving the dead a name that sounds like prayer rather than history.

On a S-facing slope of the SE spur of Museramore Mountain. This wedge tomb consists of a gallery (min. L 4m; Wth 1.3m at W, narrowing to 0.8m towards the centre) aligned WNW-ESE. The S side of the gallery is represented by four stones. Only two stones of the N side remain; the stones forming its E end and the backstone are missing. Two longitudinally set jamb stones stand inside the W end narrowing the gallery entrance width to 0.65m. The E section of the gallery is covered by a single roofstone (2.2m x 2.3m; T 0.4m at W, narrowing to 0.3m at E). The gallery is surrounded by seven outer-wall stones which curve around its E end. A prostrate slab (1.7m x 0.55m; T c. 0.2m) lies immediately SE of the outer-walling; this may be a displaced roofstone. The tomb is known locally as the 'mass-rock'. Wedge tomb, dating to the Late Neolithic or Early Bronze Age (c. 2500–1000 BCE). Its narrowing gallery and alignment are characteristic of wedge tombs found primarily in the southern and western parts of Ireland, reflecting regional funerary practices of the period.
