WEDGE TOMB: GIGMAGOG'S GRAVE in Beardiville

WEDGE TOMB: GIGMAGOG'S GRAVE

What is recorded here

Marianne lived beside the wedge tomb for forty years, certain the angle of its stones redirected every storm away from Beardiville. She never owned the land, never mapped its rooms, and never asked another person to believe her. When she died, the town stopped arguing about the grave because her kitchen still stood warm beside it, smelling of bread and rain.
The official Northern Ireland record identifies this as WEDGE TOMB: GIGMAGOG'S GRAVE. Recorded period: PREHISTORIC; NEO/B.A.. Recorded protection: Scheduled. The official map point was placed at the centre of the recorded archaeological site from the source map reference.
Wedge tomb, dating to the Neolithic or Bronze Age. Its significance lies in its association with local folklore and as a scheduled monument, indicating archaeological importance.
