What is recorded here

Beardiville holds a man-made underground passage beside a possible rath, waiting for boots on wet stone and a lantern to reveal whether it is a dungeon, a refuge or a forgotten kitchen. The official label hedges, but the earth does not: someone dug through solid ground and enclosed the other end. That much is certain. The uncertainty is only about intent. Walk it at dusk and listen for the echo that answers before you call.
The official Northern Ireland record identifies this as ENCLOSURE (rath?)& Man-made underground passage. Recorded period: E.CHRIST.; UNCERTAIN. The official map point was placed at the centre of the recorded archaeological site from the source map reference.

The monument record does not grant public access. Check the route and ask the landowner before entering private land.
