The waterfall above Abercwmboi is located in a wooded valley within the Rhondda Fawr catchment, tumbling over rocky outcrops in a dramatic, narrow gorge. It is a modest but picturesque cascade, around 3–5 metres high, set within a rugged landscape that reflects the industrial and natural history of the South Wales coalfield.
