Freestanding cast-iron water pump, installed c.1920, now disused. Comprising square-profile shaft with recessed round-head panels to all elevations, brass tap and manufactures name to front (north), surmounted by pyramidal cap with finial.

An attractive roadside feature, of a diminutive scale, with simple details such as the recessed panels and pyramidal cap with finial enlivening its functional form. Its square-profile differs greatly from the standard pumps and hydrants found throughout the county. The manufacturing company, Merrick, was based in Cork.
