Freestanding cast-iron water hydrant, installed c.1900, with banded shaft, fluted head and cap finial having foliate decorated spout with bucket grip.
This water pump exhibits artistic detailing in its design, particularly in the finely cast banded shaft and finial. It is an interesting and notable feature in the streetscape and is a reminder of a time when water was drawn from a communal source.
