What is recorded here

According to the Civil Survey (1654-6) in 'Tullaghmore' there was 'one water mill', which in 1640 were are the land of 'Donogh O Hogan of Bellarussine Gent. Daniell O Hogan of Tullaghmore Gent Rory O Hogan of the same gent Therlagh O Bryen of Belline Gent. Irish Papists' (Simington 1934, vol.2, 144). This watermill is unlocated within the townlands of Gorteennakilla and Tullamore. The mill may have been located near the bridge/ford (TN020-034) at Hogan's Pass which is called 'The ffoord called O Hogans mill' in the Civil Survey (ibid. 143).
