Wansdyke is an ancient linear earthwork in Somerset, traditionally believed to date to the 6th century and associated with the Anglo-Saxon king Cerdic of Wessex. It is considered important as a potential marker of early territorial boundaries and as evidence of early medieval military or defensive activity in southern England.
