Cast-iron vent pipe, c. 1860, comprising of fluted base with tapered shaft.
This cast-iron vent shaft is a notable and positive addition to the streetscape, due to the slender form of this functional object. The fluted base and use of cast-iron are interesting features of the structure. Vent pipes such as these are becoming increasingly rare throughout Ireland, particularly in the urban landscape.
