What is recorded here

Group of nine freestanding circular-profile vent pipes, erected c.1870, having cast-iron fluted, banded bases, shafts and cast-iron decorative cowlings. Located along roadside.
This group of ventilation pipes is an interesting feature in this rural area. The banding and fluting of the bases are well-executed as is the cowling, and are noteworthy design features of these functional objects.
