What is recorded here

Kilcarn in County Down still resists a single identity, leaving behind a place where tomb and chapel may have shared one address across centuries. Stone and memory tangle there, uncertain in the way living things are uncertain, not empty in the way abandoned things are empty. A person could stand at Kilcarn and stop pretending that certainty is the same as understanding. What is missing is not a fact. It is a cage. The place already answers, but it answers in layers, and that is why it remains interesting instead of dead.
