What is recorded here

The National Monuments Record of Wales records U-242 as Wreck. The saved point comes from the official national record. Inclusion does not by itself mean that the public may enter the place.
U-242 was a German Type VIIC U-boat lost in 1943 after being torpedoed by the British submarine HMS Unseen in the North Atlantic. All 52 crew members were killed, and the vessel now lies as a significant wartime wreck, representing the intense submarine warfare of World War II.

The historic-place record does not grant public access. Check current conditions and ownership before entering land or a building.
