U 20

Scotland's National Record of the Historic Environment records U 20 as Submarine (first World War)-(1916). The official map says its point is accurate as follows: NGR given to the nearest 1m. The record does not by itself mean that the public may enter the place.

U 20 was a German U-boat (Type U 20) that was lost in 1916 during the First World War, likely due to a mine or depth charge attack. It had no survivors and was significant as part of the early German submarine campaign against Allied shipping.
