What is recorded here
Gateway, extant 1917, on a symmetrical plan comprising pair of cast-iron "bird cage" piers having "Cavetto"-detailed pedimented capping supporting cast-iron double gates. Road fronted at entrance to grounds of Turlough Park.
A gateway forming part of a self-contained group alongside an adjacent gate lodge (see 31307014) with the resulting ensemble making a pleasing visual statement in a sylvan street scene at the entrance on to the grounds of the Turlough Park estate.
This does not grant access. Most recorded buildings are privately owned; view them only from public ground unless the owner allows entry.
