Trematon Castle in Cornwall was built by the de Dunstanville family in the 12th century and later held by the Courtenays, an influential Cornish noble family. It is important as a well-preserved example of a medieval fortified manor and for its historical association with key events in Cornish history, including the Cornish Rebellion of 1497.
