What is recorded here

Six metres of south angle still stands above Townlough Lower, leaning into the wind that crosses Lough Derg. The castle lost its rooms, doors and roof before memory became reliable, yet its corner remains sharp enough to mark the boundary between land and water. A person may have watched boats, weather or invaders from that height. The angle still points downward, waiting for someone to return the glance.

Situated on a NW-facing slope of rising ground in an upland area overlooking Lough Derg. Only the S angle of a poorly preserved tower house survives with no features visible. The SE and SW wall returns survive approx. 2m in length and 6m high. The above description is derived from 'The Archaeological Inventory of County Tipperary.
