Marian and I walked the Toward shore at low tide, past black kelp ropes and a broken boat ribbed like a claw. She pointed at a red scar in the rock, a kiln mouth half taken back by the sea. We stood there a long time, listening for heat that was no longer there.
Scotland's National Record of the Historic Environment records Toward Castle, Kiln as Kiln (period Unassigned). The official map says its point is accurate as follows: NGR given to the nearest 10m. The record does not by itself mean that the public may enter the place.
