Top-o-Cow is a small, locally significant hill with an elevation of approximately 150–200 metres. It is situated within the Pennines, an area characterised by Carboniferous limestone and millstone grit geology. The name may derive from historical agricultural or pastoral use of the area, though specific folklore is not widely recorded.
