Tomb

Cemented to inner face of E gable of Ballyhay Church (14393). Tapering chamfered slab (H 1.14m; Wth 0.42m at top, 0.32m at base; T 0.2m) carved in high relief with civilian figure in kirtle and short shoulder cape. Feet in shoes resting on dog. Head resting on cushion with angels on either side. Early-14th-century in date (Hunt 1974, vol. 1, 129). The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cork.
