What is recorded here

Half a mile east of Jerpoint Abbey, a lost medieval town called Jerpoint once thrived beside the River Nore. Its name still means Nore bridge, and its streets probably followed the crossing that drew traders, brewers and travellers through the valley. The tomb lies nearby in that forgotten place, carrying the pride of a town that no longer appears complete on modern maps.
