In a small wooded area. Indicated on the 1st (1839) ed. OS 6-inch map and the 1900 revision as 'Tobernavean', with a stream running eastward from the well.

Tobernavean is associated with Saint Kevin and is traditionally linked to cures for eye ailments and general healing. The site's long-standing recognition, indicated on early Ordnance Survey maps, suggests a continuity of veneration from early Christian times.
