Linked to Saint Cronan, a 6th-century Irish monk and founder of several monastic sites in Munster. The well may have been used for holy water or healing rituals, though specific cures or traditions associated with Tobercronan are not well documented.

The monument record does not grant public access. Check the route and ask the landowner before entering private land.
