Toberconnel is a living holy well in County Galway where a small horseshoe-shaped drystone enclosure still straddles a stream. People continue to frequent the site, suggesting the water and stone boundary remain meaningful long after they were first arranged. The well does not need a grand legend because it still invites visitation, prayer or quiet presence beside the moving water.

On a small Stream c. enclosure (GA051-002----). Known locally as Tobar Chonaill, it consists of a small horseshoe-shaped drystone enclosure (2.5m by 1.5m), opening towards SE, which straddles the stream. Still much frequented. Toberconnel is associated with Saint Conall, a lesser-known early Irish saint, and was traditionally visited for its supposed healing properties, particularly for ailments of the eyes and skin. The site's horseshoe-shaped enclosure reflects a common design for holy wells, often used to contain offerings or as a place for prayer and ritual.
