This marble commemorative plaque records: Erected by public subscription to record the name of Thomas Johnson, solicitor and to perpetuate the memory of his earnest and untiring labours for the welfare of the youth of Lancaster. Born 1818. Died 1892
Thomas Johnson was a solicitor in Lancaster who dedicated significant efforts to improve the welfare of local youth, earning public recognition through a monument subscribed by the community.
