Thomas J. Creamer

Thomas J. Creamer was born on May 26, 1843 near Lough Garadice, County Leitrim, Ireland, then carried that wet, green memory into New York City, where he became a lawyer, tax commissioner and twice a U.S. Representative. The distance does not disappear; it bends. A boy from a small Irish county learned the shape of American power by touching its ledgers, courts and chambers, and his life became a bridge between the two worlds.
