What is recorded here
The Cater Museum, a local museum in Billericay, Essex county, England, was established by Alice May Cater in 1960 in honor of her late husband William Alexander Cater. Located at 74 High Street, it resides within a Grade II listed, 18th-century building that once served as a shop and home for a saddle and harness maker. The museum houses various local artifacts across three floors, including reports of a Zeppelin downed during World War I, remains of a two-headed lamb, and the door from Christopher Martin's house, a Mayflower passenger. In 2008, it received National Lottery funding for renovation, uncovering Victorian relics like pipes, ginger beer jars, and medicine bottles in the garden.
