A merchant built this house in about 1490. The large amount of visible and carved woodwork was a sign of his wealth and status. In 1921 the house was given to the town by Prince Frederick Duleep Singh (1868-1926) to be used as a mueum.
The Ancient House, built around 1490 by a wealthy merchant, features extensive carved woodwork reflecting the owner's status. It was gifted to the town by Prince Frederick Duleep Singh in 1921 for public use, linking it to the legacy of the last Maharaja of the Sikh Empire.
