Taylorstown Castle is a late 16th-century tower house in County Wexford, built with gun loops and a hidden oubliette for uncertain Tudor times. James Rochfort owned the out-of-repair castle and 120 acres in 1640, though it never appeared in Tintern abbey records at the Suppression. Its square three-storey body still rises above the Owenduff river valley, preserving a lobby, mural staircase and corner chamber where fear and daily life shared the same walls.
