What is recorded here

Swansea Castle was built in the early 12th century by the de Londres family, Norman lords of Gower, to control the area and assert dominance over the surrounding Welsh territory. It is remembered as a key medieval stronghold that played a strategic role in the Anglo-Welsh conflicts and the expansion of Norman influence into south-west Wales.
