Swallow Island

Swallow Island is a tiny islet in County Roscommon, small enough to hide inside a single breath but stubborn enough to keep its own name. It may have served as a marker for boats, a quiet place for herons, or a forgotten boundary between waters. The absence of a grand story does not diminish it; it removes human noise and returns the island to the lake.
