Structure

A piece of brushwood (L 1.53m; diam. 0.54m) in the drain face. The piece has been cut to a chisel point and has evidence of branch-trimming. It is situated in well-humified Sphagnum peat with Eriophorum. Recorded by the Irish Archaeological Wetland Unit (University College, Dublin) in 1997. The evidence is not sufficient to warrant its acceptance as the remains of an archaeological monument.
