Structure

A small, irregular deposit of mixed brushwood (L 0.8m; Wth 0.25m; D 0.1m). One of the pieces bares a metal-cut chisel point. Hazel, alder, ash and willow were identified and the material is located in poorly humified Sphagnum and Eriophorum peat with ericaceous root. Other small deposits of pieces of brushwood are evident in this area but there is no clear association between the material. Recorded by the Irish Archaeological Wetland Unit (University College, Dublin) in 1996. The evidence is not sufficient to warrant its acceptance as the remains of an archaeological monument.
