Structure

An irregular spread (L 1.9m min.; Wth 0.9m min.; D 0.3m min.) of five pieces of brushwood and roundwoods. The material had been damaged by machinery. Alder, birch and hazel were identified and woodworking with a metal tool was recorded. The material is located in Sphagnum peat with some Eriophorum. Recorded by the Irish Archaeological Wetland Unit (University College, Dublin) in 1996. The evidence is not sufficient to warrant its acceptance as the remains of an archaeological monument.
