Structure

A piece of brushwood (L 1.72m min.; diam. 0.055m) lying on the field surface. The piece has been worked to a chisel point at one end and has had part of a side branch removed. It lies in poorly humified Sphagnum peat with some Eriophorum and ericaceous root. Recorded by the Irish Archaeological Wetland Unit (University College, Dublin) in 1996. The evidence is not sufficient to warrant its acceptance as the remains of an archaeological monument.
