Structure

A small spread of light brushwood (L 0.84m; Wth 0.73m; D 0.08m). It has been disturbed and broken by machinery but is predominantly orientated NW-SE. A metal cut chisel point is present on one piece. Wood species are dominated by birch with some alder, hazel and oak also recorded. The material is in moderately humified Sphagnum peat with some Eriophorum. Recorded by the Irish Archaeological Wetland Unit (University College, Dublin) in 1996. The evidence is not sufficient to warrant its acceptance as the remains of an archaeological monument.
