What is recorded here

Four milled pieces of brushwood still lie scattered at the NE sighting, while a degraded remnant marks the SW point. The Irish Archaeological Wetland Unit recorded them in 1996 inside a disturbed bog complex, yet doubted whether they formed a genuine monument. They may be discarded timber from a forgotten human effort, waiting for rain to erase the last sharp edge.

An irregular spread of brushwood recorded at two sightings on the field surface (L 34.06m). At the SW sighting, the site consists of a degraded piece of light brushwood. At the NE sighting, a spread of four milled pieces of brushwood is recorded. This site is part of a disturbed complex of material located on the field surface in this area of the bog. Recorded by the Irish Archaeological Wetland Unit (University College, Dublin) in 1996. The evidence is not sufficient to warrant its acceptance as the remains of an archaeological monument.
