Structure

Two roundwoods and two pieces of brushwood in the drain face (Wth 2m; D 0.16m). The wood, which has been identified as ash, hazel and willow, is set 0.1-0.18m apart, with two further pieces of brushwood to the W. A single chisel point was recorded. The site sits in moderately humified Sphagnum peat containing some ericaceous root and Eriophorum. Recorded by the Irish Archaeological Wetland Unit (University College, Dublin) in 1996. The evidence is not sufficient to warrant its acceptance as the remains of an archaeological monument.
