Structure

A dispersed band (Wth 1.44m; D 0.53m) of light brushwood and occasional twigs in opposing drain faces. The pieces are irregularly laid and span a number of peat strata, suggesting that they do not represent a single period deposit. Two pieces show evidence for woodworking and branch-trimming. These pieces occur in close proximity to each other at a comparable depth to the majority of pieces. Recorded by the Irish Archaeological Wetland Unit (University College, Dublin) in 1996. The evidence is not sufficient to warrant its acceptance as the remains of an archaeological monument.
