Structure

A deposit of light brushwood with some twigs and a single light roundwood in the drain face (Wth 0.36m; D 0.2m). All of the elements tend to be orientated N-S but there is no clear evidence for a structure. The roundwood has possible evidence for branch-trimming. Wood species include birch, willow, oak and Pomoideae. The site is situated in poorly humified Sphagnum peat. Recorded by the Irish Archaeological Wetland Unit (University College, Dublin) in 1996. The evidence is not sufficient to warrant its acceptance as the remains of an archaeological monument.
